New Year, New Boots

You know the moment when you're standing in front of a wardrobe full of shoes and yet still have absolutely nothing to wear? That was today's situation. A few of my shoes either haven't been worn in ages or are falling apart so I managed to finally get rid of five pairs (and almost broke my heart in the process cause they're not just footwear, they're friends, right?) Now obviously it would be wrong not to replace them with some shiny new ones... 

Boots are my go-to autumn/winter staple. I love wearing sandals for spring/summer but, despite it being a warm Christmas, I don't think it's quite that hot yet! It didn't take me long to find a pair I loved in the New Look January sale - so much so that I couldn't decide between the two and had to buy both. 

New Look Tan Embossed Lace Up Boots (similar)

I adore tan coloured footwear. Not as much as I love black but, still, it's pretty high up there on the list. This pair reminds me of brogues but have that extra bit of flair with my favourite chunky block heel. They're super comfy, perfect for everyday wear and were a bargain at £14 reduced from £27.99!

New Look Black Zip Front Pointed Boots (similar)

I never used to go for pointed footwear as I always thought they looked uncomfortable but recently I have been loving it so much! I don't have narrow feet but even I would say these are actually more comfy than the other pair which are wide-fit. The zip front is definitely what makes this shoe and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of these in future outfit posts because I'm already planning to wear them 24/7. Again, these were on sale at £16.79 reduced from £27.99!

H&M Haul

It's rare that I go shopping however I recently found myself with a £50 H&M gift card in my possession (thanks to the #HMFALLINLOVE competition!) and thought it'd be fun to share my recent purchases with you guys. My autumn/winter wardrobe is in serious need of an update so hopefully these new additions will add some variety back to my style! Although they obviously still conform to my strictly muted-colours-only aesthetic...

Monochrome flannel shirt £14.99

Yes, I am only just jumping on that plaid shirt bandwagon... long-sleeved shirts are a must for me in winter and I love the sleekness of monochrome pieces. I'd pair this with black leggings for a casual sport luxe vibe.

Fine knit jumper £14.99

These images don't do this jumper justice so keep an eye out on my Instagram for snaps of me wearing it. I also bought it in a size way too big so it's all warm and snuggly and amazing. Oatmeal colours remind me of autumn and seem to just be really cosy.

Glittery iPhone case £3.99

I've been looking for a new phone case for ages and what could be better than glitter PLUS cats? It's basically everything I adore although I probably should have considered how impractical having ears on the top of your phone can be. Oh well. It's such a cute bargain for just £3.99!

Fringed blanket cape £14.99

I'm really not sure I can pull of a blanket cape without looking like a wizard but it'll be perfect for lazing around on cold wintery weekends...

Birthday Haul

Exactly one week ago I turned seventeen and also received my AS level results - pretty exciting, right? I always love having a sneaky peek at what lovely gifts other people received on their birthday - so today's post is a quick little haul consisting of some of my favourite presents from my friends and family.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens The 'Nifty Fifty' as it's known by photographers everywhere. Every blogger I know who owns a 50mm lens swears by it and says it's the best thing which has dramatically improved their blog images. I am yet to test it out but am super excited to start using it! Eeek.

New Look Black Structured Tote Bag I've been (very sneakily) carrying a cream bag with a huge ink stain down one side of it to sixth form for the past year. Nobody has seemed to notice (or perhaps they're too polite to point it out!) but it was definitely time to get a new one and it was love at first sight when I spotted this in New Look. The bonus: it's black so won't get visibly dirty!

What I Got For Christmas 2014

I apologise for this post’s lack of punctuality, but since we haven’t reached Twelfth Night just yet, I figured the festive spirit should be here to stay for a little longer. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s the season of ultimate gratitude and I can’t wait to show you all some of the lovely things I was privileged to receive over the holiday.
