I recently blogged about the top fashion and beauty trends of 2015, why not write about the music too? I'm not a huge fan of music (unless it's Taylor Swift or Demi Lovato) but this year had some great tunes and even I managed to pick out a few memorable favourites. Here's my definitive top 15... get adding to your NYE playlist!

Top Ten Trends of 2015
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... 2015 saw a great deal of strange and crazy fads - Kylie Jenner lip challenge anyone? - but only a few were memorable enough to have made a mark on the fashion and beauty industry. Here's my definitive round-up of the top ten trends made popular this year:
1) Camel coats Marsala may have been named the colour of the year but it was camel that all the bloggers and fashion-insiders were wearing on their coats. I don't own one myself but the trend definitely gets my approval!
2) Bold brows I still don't fully understand what 'on fleek' means and I probably never will but I am a big fan of Cara's signature eyebrows and if hers aren't on fleek then whose are?
3) Over the knee boots LOVE. Pair with a jumper dress and see your winter fashion game instantly upped.
4) Brown lipstick Inspired by the '90s trend, brown lips made a comeback this year with the help of Kylie Jenner recently launching her own lipkits featuring some lovely coffee coloured shades.
5) Cullottes Are they trousers or a skirt? No one can tell from far away but who cares when you look great in them.
6) Contouring vs Strobing Basically just bronzer vs highlighter, right? I have no idea but I'm so bored of seeing makeup tutorials which look like a clown facepainting class so this trend can stay in 2015, please.
7) Leather pants I want a pair soooooo bad. *fingers crossed these stay in 2016*
8) The lob Translation: long bob. I'm not sure how this managed to be such a prominent hairstyle this year but it was certainly seen on a lot of celebrities!
9) Suede skirt I'm not really a fan of skirts but they're cute, I guess! '70s fashion has been huge this year.
10) Cold shoulder If it's good enough for NYFW, it's good enough for anyone. Cold shoulder tops are my fave.
What was your favourite trend of 2015? Let me know in the comments!

Six New Movies I Want To Watch
Snuggling season is finally here and it's the perfect time to binge-watch all those movies you've been meaning to go see for ages. I don't know whether it's just because my attention is focused upon it, but there seems to be some great films in the cinema right now and some fab upcoming releases in the next few months too. I've compiled a list of my top six films I want to watch in the near-future - so be sure to comment below if you've seen any of them yet!
1. Inside Out
I don't usually like Disney movies but Inside Out really appealed to me as I like the idea of having cute little creatures running around inside your mind managing your emotions. It just seems to be something which is light-hearted yet quite profound when you think about it. I actually got halfway through watching this movie when my laptop decided to break on me so I'm still waiting to see how it finishes!
2. Macbeth
Anyone who knows me will be aware that I absolutely love Shakespeare plays - particularly Macbeth. I could probably quote the entire thing word for word which is pretty useful considering I'm studying it in sixth form this year for the third time in total! One of my teachers has been to see it and told me that it was the first film adaptation to make her feel an ounce of sympathy for Lady Macbeth, which is really interesting as it's always great to see different interpretations of famous stories.
3. Pan
I'm not going to lie. The only reason I want to see this is because Cara Delevingne is in it...
4. The Intern
Any movie about interning for an online fashion site is going to be on my must-watch list - regardless of if it focuses on a 70 year-old man! The trailer for this film also looked really funny so that's a plus.
5. Ed Sheeran - Jumpers for Goalposts
I adore Ed Sheeran and his music - he's one of the few male celebrities, let alone singers, I actually like. I think his concert film would be really interesting and I'd love to see behind-the-scenes of how he writes his songs but I can't say I'm ecstatic about the running time of 180 minutes.
6. Trainwreck
I'm still undecided about whether I like Amy Schumer. I feel like her comedy is a real hit-or-miss with me. However, this film does look like the type I'd usually watch - especially as I loved Bridesmaids!
What movies are on your must-watch list? Do you agree with my picks?

Four Things I Hate About Bloggers Attending London Fashion Week
Don't get me wrong - I adore London Fashion Week. That's why I included it in my 16 Things I Love About Autumn post. But as we approach the halfway point of the SS16 shows, there are a few things I have to voice and just can't hold back any more about what LFW has become - at least, in my experience as part of the bloggersphere.
![]() |
Source: @LondonFashionWk |
1. The No Smiling Rule
I can't bear looking through Instagram or watching livestreams of shows and seeing everyone in the audience sat there looking absolutely miserable. Even on the social media of bloggers attending LFW, they still seem to have this constant irritated expression on like it's illegal to look as if you're having even an ounce of fun. I get it - it's such a tough life running around the city, sitting in the frow amongst celebs and having so much responsibility and all that, right? Being the mysterious It Girl who's above smiling isn't cool, it's lame and boring.
2. The Sycophancy
When was the last time you read a blogger's post on a collection which wasn't them praising it and declaring it as pure genius? Maybe I'm following the wrong people, but everyone I see just blindly goes on about how amazing every single designer's collection is without ever actually forming their own opinion. Yes, some of the collections are pretty damn divine, but I don't think anyone could deny that there isn't a striking amount of arse-licking on the behalf of bloggers. It seems to me like every blogger attending a show seems to take on the role of their PR girl for about two weeks afterwards. Take for instance - today's Topshop Unique show. I thought the ghastly polka-dot prints at the beginning were horrendous but it got better as the show went on and by the finale I had to admit that the collection was actually pretty good. If I was writing a review of the show, I would make sure to mention both the positive and negative parts about it. However, it seems to me that when bloggers who actually attend the show in person write reviews, they just state facts about it and only talk about how they hashtag LOVE everything. A lot of people will read this and think 'Oh, you obvs just don't understand fashion' but I really don't think that's the case. I do think fashion is about expression and often find beauty in the 'ugliest' things that everyone else dislikes, but I also have this thing called a free-thinking mind which forms its own opinions. What have bloggers become if they just mindlessly praise everything they get invited to see because they want to seem like they're fashionable?
3. The Sense of Entitlement
The casual tweet about popping down to see a show... the subtle snap of an invitation... 'oh, look what randomly arrived!' - all of these things done by bloggers seem to come with an air of arrogance. Like by being invited to London Fashion Week they've achieved maximum street cred and don't want to ruin their new-found status by seeming excited about anything. Way too many bloggers simply expect to be invited and therefore don't seem to be grateful for the opportunity, which is kinda rude in my opinion. Not just in general, but especially to the designers themselves.
4. The Desperation
Throw on the loudest, most extravagant clothing you own and get yourself down to Somerset House in some sky-high heels and an ugly hat. Why? Because you HAVE to be snapped by street-style photographers who will look at your outfit and see how amazingly creative and deep you are, right? (Side note: most of the bloggers who do this don't even have tickets to any shows!) It's just so desperate. And I don't mean that in a way like I think I'm superior. It's more like I can't understand why bloggers degrade themselves to such a shallow level and act like complete idiots just for their five minutes of fame. Please, do yourself a favour and just stay at home. You're better than this.
And that, my friends, is why I will probably never be invited to London Fashion Week in this lifetime. Despite what I've said, I would like to go. I enjoy seeing the collections and I think British fashion is something we should be really proud of. I just can't stand how shallow and superficial the entire farce is. If I went as a blogger, I would voice my own opinions and not conform to the way designers want you to suck up to them. I just can't deal with all the pretence of the fashion industry. For that reason, I can't see myself sat on the frow any time soon. Although if anyone agrees with what I've said, I'd be very willing to start a revolution for us non-conforming bloggers, with strong opinions, who don't change for other people to attend LFW...!
What do you think of bloggers attending LFW?
Let me know if you have anything to add to this list!

The 5 Must-Have Apps You Need In Your Life
Let's face it - phones are becoming an integral part of our daily lives. While many will be quick to criticise and preach about the decline of face-to-face socialisation, I'd rather embrace technology and focus on how we can use it to improve our experiences. There's an app for everything nowadays (some are just ridiculous!) so I've decided to generate a list of my top five favourites which I feel are must-haves. This obvs excludes the social media apps nearly everybody has (Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat etc) and all links below are directed to the UK App Store for iPhones. But the best part about it? Each one is completely FREE to download!
Source: Google
FASHION: Feels
If you haven’t seen me promoting this app on social media, where have you been hiding all this time? The feels app is basically my new BFF. That’s how much I’m constantly browsing on it. For bloggers like me who also have an interest in modelling, feels is great to utilise as it’s in direct collaboration with Storm models - so you get to post your latest looks whilst also being in with the chance of getting spotted by industry leaders. I think it’s super inspiring to be able to keep up with so many people’s individual styles from all around the world. Be sure to check out my profile to be the first to see my new outfits before they go live here on Lunar Look! *Note: make sure your photography is on point before you start uploading as your images have to be approved before they go live*
MUSIC: Shazam
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you hear an awesome song playing in a shop or something and you really want to find out its title/artist but have no idea how to? If so, this app is your saviour! All you have to do is open up the app when a song is playing, click the 'Shazam' button and the app automatically tells you all the info on the song and allows you to share it on your profile. I have no idea how the technology behind it works but I have to say, it truly is a blessing to be living in 2015 when there are handy inventions like this.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Photo Grid
Instagram is taking the world by storm - so how annoying is it when you have the perfect photo but, god forbid, you can’t fit it in the app’s pesky frame without someone’s head being sacrificed? This collage app saved my life back in 2012 when I first got Instagram as I can now place a white border around images, allowing me to still fit full size pics in Instagram’s square sized frame. Whoop.
WORDS: Evernote
In the past I utilised this app daily in order to read books I’d digitally downloaded as PDF files on my phone, however I’ve now come to realise that the app seems to have changed its settings so that only premium users can view their notes while offline. That’s kind of annoying but I did find the app to be really useful so if you don’t mind using mobile data or upgrading your account, I’d still definitely recommend this app for reading/writing on the go. What’s best is that your notes can be instantly synced across all your devices as you’re logged in with your own user account.
FOOD: KFC Colonel’s Club
I absolutely love KFC. I don’t care how many times people give lectures on how ‘unhealthy’ it is - it will always be my favourite fast food by far (or at least until they invent some new places). So as you can imagine, when this reward system came out this summer I was pretty damn ecstatic over it. Getting 'chicken stamps’ just for eating there and trading them in for free food? Yes please. I’m pretty sure I claimed my first reward within the first 3 weeks it was live. They also have a physical card which you can collect stamps on but I think the app is so much easier as most people carry their phone around with them anyway. The only downside I’ve found to this app is that you have to spend a minimum of £3 in order to collect a stamp. I usually only spend £1.99, and even if I bought a drink with that it’s still only going to be just under £3 mark. So be sure to order with your friends (or just treat yourself!)

17 Life Lessons in 17 Years
I will be turning seventeen this week (13th August if you fancy surprising me!) so I thought it’d be the perfect time to make a little post highlighting some of the most important truths I’ve learnt over the years. I’m definitely the kind of person who’s inclined to question everything and I don’t easily accept the dogmas so many have been blindly conditioned to believe - so these ‘lessons’ are pieces of knowledge that I’ve thoroughly thought about, put into practice, and genuinely have unwavering faith in the power they hold.

15 Things That Happen To Everyone When Going To The Cinema Alone
I recently went to the cinema by myself (see my Paper Towns review post) and for some reason everybody seems to think that's a strange thing to do. I've never really understood why it's so socially unacceptable to go places by yourself - I do it all the time and it's so much better in my opinion. I feel like it's important to spend time in solitude and know how to not be defined by another person all the time. It's not that I refuse to go with somebody else, it was just that I really wanted to see the film so why would I let not having anyone as company stop me? I find it worrying that there are people who would actually refrain from doing something they want to just because they're scared to be alone. Anyway, going to the cinema isn't really the most sociable of experiences in the first place; it's not even like you can talk to each other!!! I definitely think we should remove the social stigma of seeing movies by yourself - I'm already planning my next trip and I can't wait to do it again.
1. You go to book the film with somebody else with you and the cashier automatically puts through two tickets so you have to awkwardly explain that you just want one
2. Your mother standing beside you slowly edges away and starts pointing at you to make it clear that she is NOT the loner in this duo
3. The cashier still looks confused and takes at least thirty seconds to comprehend the fact that you actually want to go alone (shocking, I know)
4. You get given a premier seat and your dad jokingly asks whether it has 'LL' written on the back
5. It's time to queue and you are the ONLY one not excitedly talking about the film to your friend beside you
6. Taking your seat and going on your phone for a bit before suddenly wondering 'crap what it everyone thinks I'm texting my friends cause I've been stood up or something'
7. Then you stop being a weirdo and remember that you couldn't care less what people think
8. 'I mean, c'mon... I may be alone but that just means I don't have to share my food with anyone'
9. You become super aware of your surroundings *sends mental death stare in the direction of the people behind me with their feet on my chair*
10. You don't know whether to be glad or offended that the entire row of seats next to you are empty
11. The movie finally starts and you are super relieved that you can enjoy it without being distracted by somebody next to you constantly asking what's going on
12. There are no awkward moments where you feel obliged to laugh at a scene just because your friend is
13. *revels over getting both armrests to yourself*
14. You spot somebody else sitting alone *mini fist pump* oh wait... there's their friend
15. The movie finishes and you can actually go home straight away without having to wait outside the toilets for your friend (do I just have a strong-bladder compared to everyone else?)

Slow Down... 5 Daily Steps To Mindfulness
“You are a human being, not a human doing.”
I’ve done a lot of observing (ok, people-watching) in my life, and one massive thing that always intrigues me is mankind’s heavily-constructed perception of ‘time’. Or more notably, how so many view it as being something that’s elusive and fleeting, like there’s never quite enough of it. Sounds crazy to me, but it is a common misconception. So heavily ingrained that the majority of humans live with the constant fear that ‘time’ – something that doesn’t even concretely exist - will slip out of their hands if they’re not careful enough. They are constantly rushing around from one task to the next, ticking off goals on a check-list in an attempt to get to some ‘final destination’, always looking to move on to the next big thing before they have truly taken in the bliss of what we call the ‘NOW’. To put it plainly, they are simply never satisfied.
If you’re someone who’s reading this and thinking ‘nope, I genuinely live in every moment’, then great. If you’re someone who’s saying that but really lying to yourself, then not-so-great. It’s okay to admit that you’ve been tricked by the illusion of time. In fact, it’s completely necessary to be honest with yourself in order to progress. The truth is that most of us humans have been caught in this trap; it’s all we’ve been taught thus all we’ve ever known. In a world that sometimes feels like it spins too fast and burns too bright, it can be difficult, and even scary, to slow down and entirely put your trust into the present moment, feeling completely grateful and at ease with where you are whilst also being eager for more. (This is what we refer to as the optimal vantage point for creation.)
In fact, I don’t think it’s until we find ourselves in situations such as sitting in a dentist’s waiting room without a phone or anything to do, that we even realise how little we are truly aware in each moment. When you find yourself with no distractions, nothing to absent-mindedly fiddle with, no background noise - how many of you begin to get restless and search for something to do? I think I already know the answer. Many of us have gotten to this point where our lives ARE simply ‘waiting rooms’; we spend all week waiting for Friday and all year waiting for summer with the misguided mind-set that happiness is something that comes as an end-result AFTER we have completed ‘X’ tasks. Well I’m here to tell you that whoever told you that, is wrong. It’s all backwards. When you chase things, they run away. You have to attract them. Feel good NOW and watch the joy manifest itself into your experience and unfold in front of you. Forget the concept of time – past and future – the only moment that exists is NOW. Live in it. Feel joyful. Be.
HOW?
Now that you’re beginning to see the vital importance of mindfulness, here are a few important bites of knowledge to refresh your understanding, and some steps you can take to ensure you’re moving forwards:
1. The joy is in the journey
This maxim is thrown around like it’s going out of fashion, but few truly understand the piece of golden knowledge encapsulated within the proverb. “You can’t have a happy ending to an unhappy journey.” When you feel joyful and content in this present moment you have no need nor desire to even begin worrying about what your destination will be like, because your choice to head down a path of bliss and well-being means that the universe has no other option but to keep responding to the positive vibration you are offering.
2. Be still and alone
You don’t realise how incompetent humans are at simply sitting still and existing until you’re sat in a yoga class with a bunch of people who can’t even hold the Lotus position for more than 30 seconds. The need for constant stimulation is a human coping mechanism utilised to distract ourselves from the solitudinous nature of our existence. You are a human being, not a human doing; it’s incredible how many people have forgotten to do just that.
3. Become aware of your breathing
Yes, there is an important reason why this plays such a huge part in meditation. Focusing on your breathing not only helps you to relax, but it also forces you to be aware of yourself and the life that you hold at this very moment in time. Respiration is nothing but a transfer of energy – inhale the vibes you do want and exhale all that no longer serves you. When you steer every aspect of your attention to such an intricate body process, the mind has no option but to let go of all other worries that no longer exist as you are mindful.
4. Silence
Ah, the sheer beauty of it. I can’t think of any other song of the universe I’d rather listen to. Shut off that background noise and focus on creating peace from within, not from without. Silence speaks volumes when you open your ears to it.
5. Run the day (before it runs you)
If only instead of immediately checking your phone as you wake up each morning, we would all take a moment to mentally list 10 things we’re thankful for, stay quiet for 5 minutes and send love to 3 people who are bothering us – our lives would be forever changed.
