I recently blogged about the top fashion and beauty trends of 2015, why not write about the music too? I'm not a huge fan of music (unless it's Taylor Swift or Demi Lovato) but this year had some great tunes and even I managed to pick out a few memorable favourites. Here's my definitive top 15... get adding to your NYE playlist!

What I Got For Christmas 2015
*insert unapologetic comment about negative reception to these kind of posts here* yeah, yeah, yeah... it's pretentious, selfish, materialistic... whatever. You know where the door is. Now for those who enjoy seeing what lovely things others received for Christmas, here are a few of my gifts which I thought you might like to see:
BEAUTY
Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in Rose Wood - I really love brown/nude lipstick at the moment and I've always been a fan of Collection's inexpensive but long-wearing shades. This particular shade is really subtle and perfect for creating that faux 'no make-up' look.
L'oreal Paris Brow Artist Plumper - I have never done anything to my eyebrows in my life before but I really love the Cara-D-esque bold brow look. This mascara is so quick to use but I did find it easy to over-apply so it's best to start with light strokes and build colour up if necessary. I can't decide if the look suited me or not but nobody came up and said "OMG WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR FACE" so that's a good sign.

Top Ten Trends of 2015
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... 2015 saw a great deal of strange and crazy fads - Kylie Jenner lip challenge anyone? - but only a few were memorable enough to have made a mark on the fashion and beauty industry. Here's my definitive round-up of the top ten trends made popular this year:
1) Camel coats Marsala may have been named the colour of the year but it was camel that all the bloggers and fashion-insiders were wearing on their coats. I don't own one myself but the trend definitely gets my approval!
2) Bold brows I still don't fully understand what 'on fleek' means and I probably never will but I am a big fan of Cara's signature eyebrows and if hers aren't on fleek then whose are?
3) Over the knee boots LOVE. Pair with a jumper dress and see your winter fashion game instantly upped.
4) Brown lipstick Inspired by the '90s trend, brown lips made a comeback this year with the help of Kylie Jenner recently launching her own lipkits featuring some lovely coffee coloured shades.
5) Cullottes Are they trousers or a skirt? No one can tell from far away but who cares when you look great in them.
6) Contouring vs Strobing Basically just bronzer vs highlighter, right? I have no idea but I'm so bored of seeing makeup tutorials which look like a clown facepainting class so this trend can stay in 2015, please.
7) Leather pants I want a pair soooooo bad. *fingers crossed these stay in 2016*
8) The lob Translation: long bob. I'm not sure how this managed to be such a prominent hairstyle this year but it was certainly seen on a lot of celebrities!
9) Suede skirt I'm not really a fan of skirts but they're cute, I guess! '70s fashion has been huge this year.
10) Cold shoulder If it's good enough for NYFW, it's good enough for anyone. Cold shoulder tops are my fave.
What was your favourite trend of 2015? Let me know in the comments!

The Importance of Giving
As Audrey Hepburn once said, as you grow wiser, you will discover that you have two hands: one for helping yourself, the other for helping others. Everybody knows that quote. However, what not many people are aware of is how closely linked the action of giving is to receiving. The universe works in a wonderful way such that givers are ALWAYS gainers, and with this blog post I hope to illustrate how easy it is to not only sow, but also reap.
THE COMMON MISCONCEPTION
Many people believe that when we give to others, only the receiver gains and the giver loses out. This couldn't be further from the truth. When you give to someone else, you set up an energy that is going to come back. When you give freely and joyfully to others you are shouting out to the universe, "I have so much that I can afford to give generously! I'm so happy and grateful to be blessed and bless others with fortune." It's truly a powerful vibration to place yourself in. When you live like this, you automatically become a magnet of abundance and the universe cannot help but return to you what you give out. If you want more love, give some away. I guarantee you'll win.
IT'S ALL IN THE FEELING
We are taught to give and expect nothing in return. While this is partly true - giving should be selfless and unconditional - the true magic of giving lies in the good feeling that accompanies it. Not happiness that comes as a result of the person's reaction or from thinking you've done a 'noble' thing, but the pure joy that is inevitable for anyone who opens themselves up to experiencing the abundant energy of giving. We teach this as choosing to 'feel good first'. Don't do it because you're attached to a certain outcome, but rather simple because you enjoy doing it. The universe often rewards us in unexpected ways! I've read countless stories of people who've found £10 on the sidewalk, gave it to a homeless person and then within 10 seconds won £100 on scratch cards. I don't believe any of that to be a coincidence. Giving to others feels amazing. If it doesn't, you're doing it wrong.
YOU HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH
It's a beautiful moment when you finally realise this. I'm only seventeen and while I'm sure nobody considers me as anywhere near rich, However, I can see that, even with £5 in my purse, I already have more than enough. Approximately 2.7 billion people struggle to survive on less than $2 a day. I see a lot of homeless people and street performers in my town centre and while most people I know feel bitter about giving their hard-earned money away, I know that I will benefit from having the outlook that I can afford to give some change.
'Tis the season for giving after all... Merry Christmas Eve X

Christmas Jumper Wishlist
Happy Christmas Jumper Day! It's that wonderful season where it's socially acceptable to publicly wear the ugliest sweaters that you wouldn't be seen dead in any other time of the year. I always wear mine on December 25th, although it is quite a subtle one which perhaps even verges on 'fashionable', but I do adore seeing the really festive ones which even have lights on (!!!) and all that cool stuff. Here's my top picks this year:
Meowy Christmas Jumper £8 Snowy Reindeer Jumper £15 Snowflake Crop Jumper £12Donut Jumper £5 Merry Christmas Jumper £8
What festive jumper will you be rocking this Christmas?

OOTD | Motel Cut Out Jumpsuit
Happy Sunday and happy 13th! While we're at it we might as well also say happy birthday to the queen (AKA Taylor Swift) who I'm sure will definitely approve of my red lip look in today's outfit. I hope everyone's had a lovely week. A few weeks ago Motel were running a competition to create your own Christmas wishlist using their clothing items and one person will win EVERYTHING they've picked - yes, as you can guess, that lucky winner was me!
Motel Jumpsuit | Primark Heels
This jumpsuit is probably my favourite of what I received as they are such a lifesaver for lazy people like me who don't want to take the effort of styling separate pieces together. I love the simplicity of this one and although it's comfy for casual wear it can also easily be dressed up, with the cold-shoulder and cut-out features adding that classy edge. I paired it with black heels (because I'm boring) but I think it would look great too if you opted to add a pop of colour using bright shoes instead of red lipstick like me.
If any of you are curious as to what other items I picked, I chose this Camel Roll Neck Top, Black Lace Up Leotard, Moss Green Cropped Blouse, and a pair of jeans which unfortunately didn't fit. *sad face*
Thank you again, Motel! What do you think of my outfit?

Christmas Tree, Lights & Decorations
Today my family put up all the Christmas decorations around the house (for the first time ever we even have lights hanging outside!) so I thought I'd make a quick blog post just to share it with you guys. We decided to go with a gold theme for the tree decorations this year and definitely went overboard on the chocolates. I love how festive it feels to have sparkly lights everywhere and I just hope the tree stays up long enough before our kitten destroys it...

Share The Love | Luxemme £15 Voucher Giveaway
Christmas is the season of giving and it's an unfortunate fact that, in 2015, there are still so many who struggle during this time of year or are forced to go without the simple joys that most of us take for granted. Last year Luxemme worked with various charities and sent them free clothing to give to people who were homeless, orphaned or didn't have any family over Christmas. This year, they're hoping to spread the festive joy even further and want to help hundreds of people send extra gifts to their loved ones. Everyone wants to treat others during Christmas but it's understandable that sometimes financial circumstances make us unable to give as much as we'd like to.
Luxemme are giving away free £15 vouchers to spend on their site and have kindly allowed me to share the love by offering them to all my loyal readers and followers! It may seem like not much to most of us, but for so many such a thoughtful gift can really make a positive difference in their lives. They can be personally customised with the receiver's name and are perfect as a lovely stocking filler or maybe even a secret santa gift. Whatever you choose to do with them, I only hope that it helps to at least brighten someone's day and add a bit of that magical Christmas sparkle back into the festive period. After all, only in giving can we receive. If you want more love, give some away!
All you need to do now is follow Luxemme on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram then follow this link to get your vouchers posted to you free of charge. If that wasn't enough, you can also get 40% off your order using the discount code LUXEXMAS!
Merry Christmas from Luxemme & Lunar Look!

Girls On Film Winter Warmer Goody Bag
Happy December! It doesn't really feel like Christmas is just three weeks away in my mind... but I am super excited to start getting in the mood as it is my favourite time of the year by far. I was lucky enough to be the winner of a fab winter warmer goody bag so hopefully sharing some of the lovely things I received with you guys will help boost the festive spirit a little bit. Thank you to Little Mistress & Girls On Film for sending me this! X
What I received...
Heart shaped thermopack - my hands are ALWAYS freezing so this will come in handy on those super cold winter mornings. Plus it's pretty damn cute.
Pom-pom keyring - I haven't decided what I'm going to do with this yet but I think it'd make a great accessory on a handbag; the lilac colour is gorgeous!
Candles - I definitely think of Christmas when I think of candles. They create such a magical atmosphere and really make a difference to the ambience of a room. These pink ones are adorable enough to just act as decorations too!
Sweets - Definitely the first thing to be used out of the entire goody bag... nothing better to put you in a festive mood than a mug of hot chocolate and a candy cane.
Magazine - Little Mistress have some lovely pieces in their collection so I can't wait to have a flick through this for some style inspiration.
Cardigan - Primark | Top - H&M | Trousers - Girls On Film | Shoes - Primark
I also received these khaki jogging trousers which have are in an interesting satin style fabric. They're probably not something I'd usually wear (and most likely not with a tartan cardigan!) but in hindsight I don't think they look as bad on as I originally thought they did. They are a size 10 which is quite big on me but due to the elasticated waist I think I might just get away with it if I roll up the ankles! Pair with heels and a crop top for that extra bit of edge.
