Angelina Jolie's Wedding Dress - LOVE or LOATHE?

Ever since news emerged that 'Brangelina' (that's Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) finally tied the knot together in France last week, fashion lovers everywhere have been dying to get a glimpse of the bride's dress - especially when it's the glamorous Angelina-freaking-Jolie, I mean c'mon!  Luckily for us, the first official images were released today *eek* and it's no surprise that Jolie walked down the aisle sporting a unique custom-made Atelier Versace gown created by master tailor Luigi Massi. However, it wasn't quite the extravagant design we were all expecting...

Yes, those really are kids' drawings you can see all over the dress! And it wasn't a freak accident with crayons (at least we hope not...) Jolie told HELLO! Magazine, "I wanted the kids to be a part of everything including the dress because that's our family; that represents the way we live our life together." And quite frankly, I think it's a beautiful and unique idea. It's a lovely way to express how much she values her children and family instead of just wearing the trendiest most "in" dress, which she easily could have done.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of people aren't too fond of the bride's choice and many think the drawings have ruined the dress, but I honestly have to disagree with that SO much. Sure, it doesn't look that "stylish" and "high-fashion" but that's not what weddings are about. Or at least, it shouldn't be what they're about - whether you're a celebrity or not. I think the entire media storm of 'Who can have the biggest and most expensive dress in order to look unbelievably perfect on the day!!!' has brainwashed so many people into forgetting what marriage is really about - declaring your dedication and appreciation towards the one you love and all those closest to you because of that devotion.

So forget the fake tan, massive skirts and long trails - Angelina Jolie keeps it elegant and simple with a beautifully creative dress that really reminds us all what the purpose of marriage is. And for that, I admire her so much.

What do you think of Angelina Jolie's wedding dress? LOVE it or LOATHE it?

  3. I think as long as it was right for her, something that she will remember and treasure then it's lovely, I reckon a few people will actually end up following her lead, I think it's sweet but not for me, but I am not her! xx

  4. I didn't like the dress at first but now that I know the print is of her children's drawings, I really like it! I don't think most of us would be able to find someone to do that (or pay for it ;)) so she is pretty lucky!

  8. The dress is ok, but I think I might be more obsessed with the veil. It is beautiful, quirky, and a great novelty for a wedding look.
